Disclosed are an intermediate compound of N-(1,1,1-trideuterated methyl)phthalimide, and its use in the preparation of deuterated diphenylurea derivative.

A method for preparing 2-(methyl-d3)isoindoline-1,3-dione, wherein, the method comprises:
- (a) in an inert solvent, reacting a alkali metal salt of phthalimide with compound A,
- wherein, Z is CH3, O—CD3 or
- wherein R is methyl, nitro or halogen, to form 2-(methyl-d3)isoindoline-1,3-dione:
