Abstract
A gaming system in which a prize value for a current game is determined. A minimum prize value is determined based on a previous game outcome. A provisional prize value is determined based on a current game outcome. An award is made based on a comparison of the minimum prize value and the provisional prize value.
Claims30
A method of gaming for use with a gaming machine having a game controller, the method comprising:
- (a) determining via the game controller a minimum prize value to be awarded for a current game outcome, the minimum prize value being determined based on a previous prize value awarded for a previous game outcome;
- (b) generating via the game controller the current game outcome;
- (c) determining via the game controller a provisional prize value based on the current game outcome and the previous game outcome;
- (d) comparing via the game controller the provisional prize value with the minimum prize value;
- and
- (e) awarding via the game controller for the current game outcome a current prize value of the minimum prize value in response to the provisional prize value being less than the minimum prize value;
- and awarding for the current game outcome a current prize value of the provisional prize value in response to the provisional prize value being greater than or equal to the minimum prize value.

- determine a minimum prize value to be awarded for a current game outcome, the minimum prize value being determined based on a previous prize value awarded for a previous game outcome;

A gaming system comprising:
- a cabinet;
- a display mounted to the cabinet for displaying game outcomes to a player;
- at least one input device mounted to the cabinet and operable by a player to initiate plays of a game;
- and
- a game controller disposed within the cabinet, the game controller comprising a memory storing program code and a processor in data communication with the display, the input device and the memory;
- and said processor arranged to execute at least part of the program code in response to initiation of a play of the game to implement a game, the game controller being arranged to determine a minimum prize value to be awarded for a current game outcome, the minimum prize value being determined based on a previous prize value awarded for a previous game outcome, to generate the current game outcome, to determine a provisional prize value based on the current game outcome and the previous game outcome, to compare the provisional prize value with the minimum prize value, and to award to a player of the current game the minimum prize value in response to the provisional prize value being less than the minimum prize value, and to award to the player the provisional prize value in response to the provisional prize value being greater than or equal to the minimum prize value.
