Abstract
A superconductive element is described, comprising a rigid support made of a non-superconductive material, said support comprising at least one superconductive track formed by a groove containing a superconductive material having a density equal to at least 85% of the value of its theoretical density, and the process for producing said element. The present invention also relates to the possible uses of the superconductive elements, and also to superconductive devices comprising said superconductive elements.
Claims8
Process for preparing a superconductive element comprising a rigid support made from non-superconductive material, said support comprising at least one superconductive track formed from a groove containing a superconductive material having a real density equal to at least 85% of the value of its theoretical density, comprising the following operative steps:
- a) making at least one groove on the surface of a rigid support made from non-superconductive material;
- b) inserting a material which consists of a powdered precursor of a superconductive material inside the groove and compacting said powdered precursor up to a real density value equal to at least 50% of the theoretical density value;
- c) positioning at least one solid reactant above the groove in contact with said powdered precursor of a superconductive material or in a position adjacent to the groove in which the powdered precursor of a superconductive material is contained, said solid reactant being a compound that, once it has been brought to the liquid state, is capable of reacting with said powdered precursor of a superconductive material to form a superconductive material;
- and
- d) subjecting the reactant and the groove containing the precursor to heating until the reactant is liquefied and subsequently infiltrates inside the precursor powder of a superconductive material with formation of a superconductive track inside the groove.
