Systems and methods for alarm filtering and management within a real-time data acquisition and monitoring environment

A system for filtering and interpreting real-time sensory data from an electrical system, the system comprising an analytics server comprising at least one hardware processor that:

• receives real-time data from a plurality of sensors interfaced with components of an electrical system;
• generates predicted data using a virtual system model of the electrical system, the virtual system model comprising virtual components corresponding to components of the electrical system;
• determines a difference between the real-time data and the predicted data;
• if the difference does not exceed a tolerance threshold value, does not update the virtual components of the virtual system model;
• if the difference exceeds the tolerance threshold value but does not exceed an alarm threshold value which is greater than the tolerance threshold value, updates the virtual components of the virtual system model in real time based on the real-time data;
• and,
• if the difference exceeds the alarm threshold value, does not update the virtual components of the virtual system model, and communicates an alarm condition.
