Abstract
A method for receiving and processing a digital radio broadcasting signal includes: receiving a digital radio broadcasting signal comprised of two or more multicast contents, playing a first one of the multicast contents, and concurrently storing a second one of the multicast contents. A receiver that implements the method is also provided.
Claims16
A method for receiving and processing a digital radio broadcasting signal, the method comprising:
- using a single tuner to receive an in-band on-channel digital radio broadcasting signal comprised of a plurality of carriers in a single broadcast radio channel, with the carriers being modulated to concurrently transmit two or more different programs;
- processing the radio broadcasting signal through one or more layers of a protocol stack to produce encoded content for each of the programs;
- processing the encoded content for a first one of the programs to produce an audio output;
- and
- concurrently storing the encoded content for a second one of the programs.
A receiver for receiving and processing a digital radio broadcasting signal, the receiver comprising:
- a single tuner for receiving an in-band on-channel digital radio broadcasting signal comprised of a plurality of carriers in a single broadcast radio channel, with the carriers being modulated to concurrently transmit two or more different programs;
- a processor for processing the radio broadcasting signal through one or more layers of a protocol stack to produce encoded content for each of the programs, and for processing the encoded content for a first one of the programs to produce an audio output;
- and
- a memory for concurrently storing the encoded content for a second one of the programs.
A method for receiving and processing a digital radio broadcasting signal, the method comprising:
- using a single tuner to receive an in-band on-channel digital radio broadcasting signal comprised of a plurality of carriers in a single broadcast radio channel, with the carriers being modulated to concurrently transmit two or more different programs;
- processing the radio broadcasting signal through one or more layers of a protocol stack to produce encoded content for each of the programs;
- and
- concurrently storing the encoded content for at least two of the programs.
A receiver for receiving and processing a digital radio broadcasting signal, the receiver comprising:
- a single tuner for receiving an in-band on-channel digital radio broadcasting signal comprised of a plurality of carriers in a single broadcast radio channel, with the carriers being modulated to concurrently transmit two or more different programs;
- a processor for processing the radio broadcasting signal through one or more layers of a protocol stack to produce encoded content for each of the programs;
- and
- a memory for concurrently storing the encoded content for two or more of the programs.
