Abstract
A high data rate UWB system implements a frame structure that uses a connected set of m-sequences comprising the lowest possible cross-correlation and perfect, or near perfect autocorrelation. Each m-sequence can be used to identify a different piconet A very efficient code matched filter can then be used to decode the frames and achieve synchronization with a piconets.
Claims16
A device, comprising:
- a frame generator configured to generate a frame of data, the frame of data comprising a plurality of data fields;
- and
- a spreader configured to spread the data fields using a plurality of codes, the codes selected so that the combined spectrum for the spread data fields is substantially flat.
A method implemented in a device, comprising:
- generating, by the device, a frame of data comprising a plurality of data fields;
- and
- spreading, by the device, the data fields using a plurality of codes, the codes being selected so that the combined spectrum for the spread data fields is substantially flat.
An access point, comprising:
- a frame generator configured to generate a frame of data, the frame of data comprising a plurality of data fields;
- a spreader configured to spread the data fields using a plurality of codes, the codes selected so that the combined spectrum for the spread data fields is substantially flat;
- and
- a circuit configured to transmit the frame of data with the spread data fields.
