System and method for controlling one or more vehicle features based on driver status

An apparatus for notifying a driver of a charge value of a battery in a vehicle, the apparatus comprising:

• a controller configured to:
• receive a driver status signal from an access device indicative of the driver being one of a primary driver and a secondary driver;
• receive a first signal indicative of the charge value of the battery;
• notify the primary driver that the charge value is low if the charge value is less than a first threshold;
• and
• notify the secondary driver that the charge value is low if the charge value is less than a second threshold, the second threshold being greater than the first threshold.

A method comprising:

• electronically receiving a driver status signal corresponding to one of a primary driver and a secondary driver;
• electronically receiving a first signal indicative of a charge value of a battery;
• and
• electronically notifying the secondary driver that the charge value is low if the charge value is less than a first value;
• the first value being different than a second value that notifies the primary driver that the charge value is low.
