Abstract
Methods for treating an inflammatory disorder and for inhibiting the production of IL-23 using 2,4-pyrimidinediamine compounds represented by formula (I):

A method for inhibiting the production of IL-23, comprising administering to a subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of one or more compounds according to the formula:
- wherein X represents (CH2)m, wherein m is an integer from 1 to 5, and wherein one or more CH2 are optionally replaced with O, S or N(R0), wherein R0 represents H, C1-C7 alkyl or C3-C8 cycloalkyl;
- Y represents N(R1), O or S, wherein R1 represents H, C1-C7 alkyl or C3-C8 cycloalkyl;
- R11, R12, R13, and R14 each independently represents C1-C7 alkyl;
- p represents 0 or 1;
- R2 represents H, C1-C7 alkyl or C2-C8 alkanoyl;
- R3 represents H, halogen, cyano, nitro, (C1-C7 alkoxy)carbonyl, C1-C7 alkyl, C1-C7 haloalkyl, C1-C7 alkoxy or C1-C7 haloalkoxy;
- R4 represents H, C1-C7 alkyl or C2-C8 alkanoyl;
- and
- R5 represents a substituted aryl or heteroaryl.
A method for stimulating production of IL-10, comprising administering to a subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of one or more compounds according to the formula:
- wherein X represents (CH2)m, wherein m is an integer from 1 to 5, and wherein one or more CH2 are optionally replaced with O, S or N(R0), wherein R0 represents H, C1-C7 alkyl or C3-C8 cycloalkyl;
- Y represents N(R1), O or S, wherein R1 represents H, C1-C7 alkyl or C3-C8 cycloalkyl;
- R11, R12, R13, and R14 each independently represents C1-C7 alkyl;
- p represents 0 or 1;
- R2 represents H, C1-C7 alkyl or C2-C8 alkanoyl;
- R3 represents H, halogen, cyano, nitro, (C1-C7 alkoxy)carbonyl, C1-C7 alkyl, C1-C7 haloalkyl, C1-C7 alkoxy or C1-C7 haloalkoxy;
- R4 represents H, C1-C7 alkyl or C2-C8 alkanoyl;
- and
- R5 represents a substituted aryl or heteroaryl.
