Abstract
Provided are negative electrode compositions for lithium-ion electrochemical cells that include metal oxides and polymeric binders. Also provided are electrochemical cells and battery packs that include electrodes made with these compositions.
Claims8
An electrode composition for a negative electrode comprising:
- a powdered material;
- and
- a polymeric binder,
- wherein the powdered material includes an intercalating metal oxide, wherein the metal oxide is capable of undergoing lithiation and delithiation, and wherein the polymeric binder includes a lithium polyacrylate, and
- wherein the powdered material comprises LiVO2 in which up to 15 mole percent of the V is replaced by a combination of lithium and molybdenum.
