Molded resin product and process for surface treatment thereof

A molded resin product comprising:

• a substrate made of a transparent resin;
• an opaque coating film disposed on a rear surface of the substrate, such that portions of the rear surface of the substrate where there is no opaque coating film form a patterned portion, edges of the patterned portion being smooth and perpendicular to the rear surface of the substrate;
• a transparent resin material disposed on the rear surface of the substrate at least in the portions where there is no opaque coating film that form the patterned portion;
• and
• an opaque reflective film or a half-reflective film disposed at least on a rear surface of the transparent resin material,
• wherein
• an additive that is a light-reflective material is incorporated into the transparent resin material, such that the transparent resin material has a refractive index different from a refractive index of the substrate made of a transparent resin, and the patterned portion visibly appears to pop up from the rear surface of the substrate due to reflection of light on a boundary surface between the transparent resin material and the substrate, as well as refraction of light passing through the boundary surface.
