System and method for displaying object location in augmented reality

A computer readable medium comprising computer executable instructions for displaying information on a mobile device, said computer readable medium comprising instructions for:

• displaying an image on the display of the mobile device;
• receiving a first selection input to select a first object image of a first object shown in the image;
• receiving a second selection input to select a second object image of a second object shown in the image;
• detecting a facing direction of the mobile device;
• determining a first bearing to the first object relative to the facing direction;
• determining a second bearing to the second object relative to the facing direction;
• determining location information of the second object relative to the first object using the first bearing and second bearing;
• and
• displaying, overlaid on the image, the location information.

A mobile device comprising a processor coupled to a camera, a display and memory, the memory storing computer executable instructions for:

• displaying an image on the display of the mobile device;
• receiving a first selection input to select a first object image of a first object shown in the image;
• receiving a second selection input to select a second object image of a second object shown in the image;
• detecting a facing direction of the mobile device;
• determining a first bearing to the first object relative to the facing direction;
• determining a second bearing to the second object relative to the facing direction;
• determining location information of the second object relative to the first object using the first bearing and second bearing;
• and
• displaying, overlaid on the image, the location information.
