Abstract
Various arrangements for testing video decoder device functionality are presented. A video frame decoded by a video decoder device under test may be received. The received video frame may be segmented into a plurality of blocks. A first value may be calculated for a first block of the plurality of blocks of the received video frame using pixel values of pixels present within the first block. The first value may be compared to a first reference value. The first reference value may correspond to a first reference block of one or more reference frames. Video decoder functionality of the video decoder device may be determined to be functional at least partially based on comparing the first value to the first reference value.
Claims20
A method for testing video decoder device functionality, the method comprising:
- receiving, by a computerized test device, a video frame decoded by a video decoder device under test;
- segmenting, by the computerized test device, the received video frame into a plurality of blocks;
- calculating, by the computerized test device, a first value for a first block of the plurality of blocks of the received video frame using pixel values of pixels present within the first block;
- comparing, by the computerized test device, the first value to a first reference value, wherein:
- the first reference value corresponds to a first reference block of a reference frame;
- and
- determining, by the computerized test device, video decoder functionality of the video decoder device is functional at least partially based on comparing the first value to the first reference value.
A system for testing video decoder device functionality, the system comprising:
- a computer system comprising a processor and a memory, wherein the memory is communicatively coupled with and readable by the processor and having stored therein processor-readable instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the computer system to:
- receive a video frame decoded by a video decoder device under test;
- segment the received video frame into a plurality of blocks;
- calculate a first value for a first block of the plurality of blocks of the received video frame using pixel values of pixels present within the first block;
- compare the first value to a first reference value, wherein:
- the first reference value corresponds to a first reference block of a reference frame;
- and
- determine video decoder functionality of the video decoder device is functional at least partially based on comparing the first value to the first reference value.
A computer program product residing on a non-transitory processor-readable medium for testing video decoder device functionality, the computer program product comprising processor-readable instructions configured to cause a processor to:
- receive a video frame decoded by a video decoder device under test;
- segment the received video frame into a plurality of blocks;
- calculate a first value for a first block of the plurality of blocks of the received video frame using pixel values of pixels present within the first block;
- compare the first value to a first reference value, wherein:
- the first reference value corresponds to a first reference block of a reference frame;
- and
- determine video decoder functionality of the video decoder device is functional at least partially based on comparing the first value to the first reference value.
