Method for inserting a first folded film within a second folded film

A method of producing a multi-layered thermoplastic bag, comprising:

• directing a first folded film in a vertical direction of travel;
• directing a second film in the vertical direction of travel;
• separating a first half and a second half of the first folded film;
• directing the second film from the vertical direction of travel into a horizontal direction of travel;
• inserting the second film between the first half and the second half of the first folded film;
• and
• changing a direction of travel of the second film from the horizontal direction of travel to the vertical direction of travel while between the first and second halves of the first folded film.

A method for inserting a second folded film into a first folded film, the method comprising:

• unwinding a first folded film from a first roll;
• unwinding a second folded film from a second roll positioned vertically above from the first roll;
• advancing the first folded film a first vertical direction of travel in a first plane;
• advancing the second folded film in the first vertical direction of travel in a second plane;
• redirecting the second folded film from the first vertical direction of travel to a first horizontal direction of travel;
• separating a first half from a second half of the first folded film;
• advancing the second folded film between the first half and the second half of the first folded film in a second horizontal direction of travel;
• and
• redirecting the second folded film from the second horizontal direction of travel to the first vertical direction of travel while between the first half and the second half of the first folded film.
