Method and apparatus for data communication through a coordinated multi-point transmission

A data communication apparatus through a coordinated multi-point transmission in a wireless communication system in a multi-cell environment comprising a serving base station and a cooperative base station performing the coordinated multi-point transmission, the apparatus comprising:

• a receiver configured to receive data through each downlink channel from the serving base station and the cooperative base station;
• a demodulator configured to demodulate the received data;
• and
• a controller configured to control the receiver and the demodulator,
• wherein the data received at the receiver comprises a predetermined reference signal and data resource element of the serving base station and the cooperative base station, respectively, and a transmit diversity is applied to the data resource element of the serving base station and the cooperative base station, respectively, through pairing,
• wherein an RF combining scheme is used for a symbol including the predetermined reference signal of the data transferred from the serving base station and the cooperative base station, respectively,
• wherein a space frequency block code (SFBC) scheme is used for a symbol that does not include the predetermined reference signal of the data transferred from the serving base station and the cooperative base station, respectively,
• wherein the demodulation of the space frequency block code (SFBC) uses a demodulation reference signal, and
• wherein a coefficient used to combine for the demodulation of the RF combining is transferred from the serving base station or the cooperative base station in the demodulating of the received data.
