Abstract
A method for the treatment of inflammatory disorders is disclosed, particularly the treatment of arthritis. The method comprises the administration of a function blocking antibody which is capable of binding an epitope of VLA-1.
Claims20
A monoclonal antibody or antigen binding fragment thereof, wherein the antibody or antigen binding fragment thereof is capable of specifically binding an epitope of VLA-1, wherein the epitope comprises amino acid residues Val-Gln-Arg-Gly-Gly-Arg (SEQ ID NO:8) and wherein the antibody or fragment of said antibody is capable of binding a human α1-I domain but not to a rat α1-I domain, and wherein said epitope is cation-dependent.
