Abstract
The present invention provides kits and methods for treating hair on the scalp comprising non-toxic compositions providing beneficial effects on hair without employing high temperatures, free radical initiators or rinsing hair after applying the compositions.
Claims2
A composition for treating hair comprising a non-perfluorinated compound according to formula (I):
- having a molecular weight less than about 1500 g/mol;
- and a cosmetically acceptable excipient;
- wherein R11 is hydrogen, or methyl optionally substituted with one or more halogen atoms
- R12 is cyclic or acyclic, substituted or unsubstituted, branched or unbranched aliphatic;
- cyclic or acyclic, substituted or unsubstituted, branched or unbranched heteroaliphatic;
- substituted or unsubstituted aryl;
- substituted or unsubstituted heteroaryl;
- or substituted or unsubstituted, branched or unbranched acyl;
- wherein R12 contains at least one fluorine atom;
- and
- wherein the composition does not contain a free radical initiator, a polymerization initiator or a polymerization catalyst.
