Abstract
A scanning laser ophthalmoscope (SLO) that includes at least one adjustable scanning system adapted for a variable field of view; at least one light source having at least a first spectral emission band suitable to effect at least one of a fluorescence signal and a reflectance signal from a retinal cell; and at least one detector configured to detect at least two different spectral bands from the at least one of the fluorescence and reflectance signals.

A scanning laser ophthalmoscope (SLO), comprising:
- at least one adjustable scanning system adapted for a variable field of view;
- at least one light source having a first spectral emission band suitable to effect at least one of a fluorescence signal and a reflectance signal from a retinal cell and a different, second spectral emission band suitable to effect at least one of a fluorescence signal and a reflectance signal from a retinal cell;
- and
- at least one detector configured to detect at least two different spectral bands from the at least one of the fluorescence and reflectance signals.
A scanning laser ophthalmoscope (SLO), comprising:
- at least one adjustable scanning system adapted for a variable field of view;
- at least one light source having at least a first spectral emission band suitable to effect at least one of a fluorescence signal and a reflectance signal from a retinal cell and a different, second spectral emission band suitable to effect at least one of a fluorescence signal and a reflectance signal from a retinal cell;
- at least one adaptive optics system configured to process light from the at least one of the fluorescence and reflectance signals;
- and
- at least one detector configured to detect at least two different spectral bands from the at least one of the fluorescence and reflectance signals.
An adaptive optics scanning laser ophthalmoscope (AOSLO), comprising:
- at least one light source adapted for at least one of fluorescence and reflectance excitation of a retinal object;
- at least one element adapted for wavefront correction;
- at least one vertical scanner;
- at least one horizontal scanner adapted to generate a synchronization signal for use by the at least one vertical scanner;
- at least one detector;
- and
- scanner control electronics adapted to adjust at least one of the at least one horizontal scanner and the at least one vertical scanner.
