Abstract
A liquid crystal display device including: first and second substrates disposed oppositely to each other; a first spacer formed on a side of the first substrate so as to be directly or indirectly abutted against a side of the second substrate; and a second spacer formed on the first substrate side so as to be spaced apart from the second substrate side; wherein a concavo-convex portion is formed in an area, of the second substrate, corresponding to the second spacer on the first substrate side.
Claims8
A liquid crystal display device comprising:
- first and second substrates disposed oppositely to each other;
- a first spacer formed on a side of the first substrate so as to be directly or indirectly abutted against a side of the second substrate;
- and
- a second spacer formed on the first substrate side so as to be spaced apart from the second substrate side;
- wherein a concavo-convex portion is formed in an area, of the second substrate, corresponding to the second spacer on the first substrate side;
- and
- a planarizing film made of a photosensitive resin formed on the first substrate side of the second substrate,
- wherein the concavo-convex portion is formed in an area, of the planarizing film, corresponding to the second spacer, and
- wherein the concavo-convex portion includes a dent portion formed integrally with the planarizing film;
- the first and second spacers are formed to have generally the same height in a direction perpendicular to a front surface of the first substrate;
- and
- a top of a convex portion of the dent portion is formed lower than an upper surface, of the planarizing film, in an area other than the dent portion.
