Abstract
Methods for the preparation of a pulling roll including a sleeve (800) and/or a cartridge (1330) are disclosed. Also disclosed are methods for the change or repair of at least a portion of a heat resistant material of a pulling roll. Also disclosed are a sleeve and a cartridge for use with a pulling roll, each including a heat resistant material.
Claims5
A method for preparing a pulling roll, the method comprising:
- a. positioning a plurality of fired discs of a millboard material onto a shaft in a face to face manner;
- b. axially compressing the plurality of fired discs;
- c. firing the axially compressed plurality of fired discs at a temperature and for a time sufficient to fuse at least a portion of the plurality of fired discs together to form a sleeve;
- and then
- d. removing the sleeve from the shaft.
