Abstract
An acceleration-based method and device for the safety monitoring of a drive is provided. In the method a setpoint torque is calculated in a safety function as a function of the position of the accelerator pedal. An expected vehicle acceleration is determined, as a function of the setpoint torque, in the safety function. An actual vehicle acceleration is determined, preferably by an acceleration sensor. A fault situation may be detected by comparing the actual vehicle acceleration and the expected vehicle acceleration. A device, preferably included in the vehicle electronics, is configured to implement the acceleration-based method.
Claims13
A method for safety monitoring of a drive in a motor vehicle, comprising the acts of:
- determining by a processor a setpoint torque as a function of at least one of a characteristic accelerator pedal signal for a position of an accelerator pedal and a signal of a driver assistance system influencing a vehicle-longitudinal movement;
- determining by the processor an expected vehicle acceleration as a function of the setpoint torque;
- determining by the processor an actual vehicle acceleration;
- and
- detecting a fault situation by comparing the actual vehicle acceleration and the expected vehicle acceleration.
A device for safety monitoring of a drive in a motor vehicle, comprising:
- means for determining a setpoint torque as a function of at least one of a characteristic accelerator pedal signal for the position of the accelerator pedal and a signal of a driver assistance system influencing the vehicle-longitudinal movement;
- means for determining an expected vehicle acceleration as a function of the setpoint torque;
- means for determining an actual vehicle acceleration;
- and
- means for detecting a fault situation by comparing the actual vehicle acceleration and the expected vehicle acceleration.
A device for safety monitoring of a drive in a motor vehicle, comprising:
- a control module, the control module being configured to:
- determine a setpoint torque as a function of at least one of a characteristic accelerator pedal signal for a position of an accelerator pedal and a signal of a driver assistance system influencing a vehicle-longitudinal movement;
- determine an expected vehicle acceleration as a function of the setpoint torque;
- determine an actual vehicle acceleration;
- and
- detect a fault situation by comparing the actual vehicle acceleration and the expected vehicle acceleration.
