## Abstract

The present invention relates to a new and distinctive canola, designated CL121460H. Also included are seeds of canola CL121460H, to the plants, or plant parts, of canola CL121460H and to methods for producing a canola plant produced by crossing the canola CL121460H with itself or another canola genotype, and the creation of variants by mutagenesis or transformation of canola CL121460H.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A seed of canola designated CL121460H, wherein a representative sample of seed of said cultivar was deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-11698.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

A canola plant, or a part thereof, produced by growing the seed of claim 1.

### Claim 3

A method of introducing a desired trait into canola CL121460H, wherein the method comprises: (a) crossing a CL121460H plant, wherein a representative sample of seed was deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-11698, with a plant of another canola cultivar that comprises said desired trait to produce F1 progeny plants, wherein said desired trait is selected from the group consisting of male sterility, herbicide resistance, insect resistance, and resistance to bacterial disease, fungal disease or viral disease; (b) selecting one or more progeny plants that have said desired trait to produce selected progeny plants; (c) crossing the selected progeny plants with the CL121460H plants to produce backcross progeny plants; (d) selecting for backcross progeny plants that have said desired trait and physiological and morphological characteristics of canola CL121460H to produce selected backcross progeny plants; and (e) repeating steps (c) and (d) three or more times to produce selected fourth or higher backcross progeny plants that comprise said desired trait and an oleic acid value of about 70% and an α-linolenic acid value of less than about 3%.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The method of claim 3, wherein the plants further comprise a yield greater than about 2100 kg/ha, a protein value of greater than 44%, or a glucosinolate value of less than 12%.

### Claim 5 (depends on 3)

The method of claim 3, wherein the plants further comprise resistance to Blackleg (Leptosphaeria maculans), Fusarium wilt, or White Rust.

### Claim 6 (depends on 3)

The method of claim 3, wherein the plants further comprise herbicide resistance to an herbicide selected from the group consisting of imidazolinone, sulfonylurea, glyphosate, glufosinate, L-phosphinothricin, triazine, Clearfield, Dicamaba, 2,4-D, and benzonitrile.

### Claim 7 (depends on 3)

The method of claim 3, wherein the plants comprise all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of canola CL121460H as shown in Tables 1 and 2.

### Claim 8 (depends on 3)

A canola plant produced by the method of claim 3, wherein the plant has the desired trait and comprises an oleic acid value of about 70% and an α-linolenic acid value of less than about 3%.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The canola plant of claim 8, wherein the desired trait comprises herbicide resistance and the resistance is conferred to an herbicide selected from the group consisting of imidazolinone, sulfonylurea, glyphosate, glufosinate, L-phosphinothricin, triazine, Clearfield, Dicamaba, 2,4-D, and benzonitrile.

### Claim 10 (depends on 8)

The canola plant of claim 8, wherein the desired trait comprises insect resistance and the insect resistance is conferred by a transgene encoding a Bacillus thuringiensis endotoxin.

### Claim 11 (depends on 8)

The canola plant of claim 8, wherein the desired trait comprises resistance to Blackleg, Fusarium wilt, or White Rust.

### Claim 12 (depends on 8)

The canola plant of claim 8, wherein the plant comprises all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of canola CL121460H, as shown in Tables 1 and 2.

### Claim 13

A method of modifying fatty acid metabolism or modifying carbohydrate metabolism of canola CL121460H wherein the method comprises: (a) crossing a CL121460H plant, wherein a representative sample of seed was deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-11698, with a plant of another canola cultivar to produce F1 progeny plants that comprise a nucleic acid molecule encoding an enzyme selected from the group consisting of phytase, fructosyltransferase, levansucrase, alpha-amylase, invertase and starch branching enzyme or encoding an antisense of stearyl-ACP desaturase; (b) selecting one or more progeny plants that have said nucleic acid molecule to produce selected progeny plants; (c) crossing the selected progeny plants with the CL121460H plants to produce backcross progeny plants; (d) selecting for backcross progeny plants that have said nucleic acid molecule and physiological and morphological characteristics of canola CL121460H to produce selected backcross progeny plants; and (e) repeating steps (c) and (d) three or more times to produce selected fourth or higher backcross progeny plants that comprise said nucleic acid molecule and have an oleic acid value of about 70% and an α-linolenic acid value of less than about 3%.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)

The method of claim 13, wherein the plants further comprise a yield greater than about 2100 kg/ha, a protein value of greater than 44%, or a glucosinolate value of less than 12%.

### Claim 15 (depends on 13)
