## Abstract

The present invention relates to a machine-readable security element for security products which comprises at least one particulate substance having electroluminescent properties and a transparent, electrically conductive pigment, to a priming ink for the production of a security element of this type, and to a security product which includes the security element.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A printing ink for the production of a security element comprising:
at least one particulate substance having electroluminescent properties and a transparent, electrically conductive pigment, and
wherein the concentration of transparent, electrically conductive pigment is such that the formation of continuous conductivity in the resultant security element is prevented.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The printing ink according to claim 1, further comprising at least one flake-form effect pigment and/or at least one organic or inorganic colored pigment.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The printing ink according to claim 1, wherein said at least one particulate substance having electroluminescent properties is employed in said printing ink as a mixture of two or more different particulate substances having electroluminescent properties and said transparent, electrically conductive pigment is employed in said printing ink as a mixture of two or more different transparent, electrically conductive pigments.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The printing ink according to claim 3, wherein said mixture of two or more different particulate substances having electroluminescent properties and said mixture of two or more different transparent, electrically conductive pigments form a pigment mixture, and said pigment mixture further comprises at least one binder.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The printing ink according to claim 4, wherein said pigment mixture is in the form of pearlets, briquettes, pellets, granules, chips, sausages, a paste or a slurry.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The printing ink according to claim 1, further comprising at least one binder.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The printing according to claim 6, further comprising one or more solvents, adhesion promoters, dispersion aids, drying accelerators or photoinitiators.

### Claim 8 (depends on 2)

The printing ink according to claim 2, wherein said at least one particulate substance having electroluminescent properties is employed in said printing ink as a mixture of two or more different particulate substances having electroluminescent properties and said transparent, electrically conductive pigment is employed in said printing ink as a mixture of two or more different transparent, electrically conductive pigments.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The printing ink according to claim 8, wherein said mixture of two or more different particulate substances having electroluminescent properties and said mixture of two or more different transparent, electrically conductive pigments form a pigment mixture, and said pigment mixture further comprises at least one binder.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The printing ink according to claim 9, wherein said pigment mixture is in the form of pearlets, briquettes, pellets, granules, chips, sausages, a paste or a slurry.
