Method and system for indexing and searching timed media information based upon relevant intervals

A method, comprising:

• receiving, by a computer, a user input representing a query;
• comparing, by the computer, the query with an index of information representations associated with a first timed media file;
• determining, by the computer, a plurality of relevance intervals within the first timed media file based on an outcome of said comparing, wherein a beginning point and an end point of each of the relevance intervals are based on the information representations, wherein at least some of the relevance intervals are not contiguous with any others of the relevance intervals within the first timed media file;
• and
• generating, by the computer, a second timed media file comprising the plurality of relevance intervals, such that all of the relevance intervals are contiguous with another of the relevance intervals within the second timed media file.
