Abstract
The present invention concerns a composition for the permanent shaping of human hair comprising a copolymer of vinylpyrrolidone and quaternized vinylimidazole at a concentration in the range of 0.1 to 2.5% by weight calculated to total composition and process for permanent shaping human hair with the said compositions.

Composition for the curling of human hair, comprising at least one reducing agent at a concentration of above 2% by weight, calculated to total composition, and a copolymer of vinylpyrrolidone, present at 5% by weight of the total copolymer, and quaternized vinylimidazole, present at 95% by weight of the total copolymer, at a concentration in the range of 0.1 to 2.5% by weight calculated to total composition, wherein the copolymer has a cationic charge density of at least 6.1 meq/g at pH 7.0 and a molecular weight, by light scattering method, of 40,000.
