Abstract
Disclosed is a system and method for the real-time wireless transmission of a digital audio signal and control data. A transmitter may be coupled to an audio source. The transmitter includes a processor to combine control data with a digital audio signal from the audio source and the processor wirelessly transmits the combined control data and digital audio signal to a receiver. The receiver includes a processor that is used to receive the combined control data and digital audio signal and to process the control data to perform a user pre-defined function.
Claims52
A system for real-time wireless transmission of a digital data stream including a digital audio signal and control data comprising:
- an audio source;
- a transmitter coupled to the audio source, the transmitter including a processor to:
- combine control data with a received digital audio signal to generate the digital data stream, the received digital audio signal including an audio signal generated by a musical instrument or by a microphone and the control data in the digital data stream including user input controls or sensor data, and transmit the digital data stream;
- and
- a receiver including a processor to:
- receive the digital data stream transmitted from the transmitter and
- process the control data included in the received digital data stream to perform a user pre-defined function based on the processed control data.
A method for real-time wireless transmission of a digital data stream including a digital audio signal and control data comprising:
- combining control data with the digital audio signal from an audio source by a transmitter to generate the digital data stream, the digital audio signal including an audio signal generated by a musical instrument or by a microphone and the control data in the digital data stream including user input controls or sensor data;
- transmitting the digital data stream from the transmitter;
- receiving the digital data stream from the transmitter by a receiver;
- and
- processing the control data from the received digital data stream to perform a user pre-defined function based on the processed control data.
