Abstract
The present invention provides an inbred corn line designated NPHD1001, methods for producing a corn plant by crossing plants of the inbred line NPHD1001 with plants of another corn plant. The invention further encompasses all parts of inbred corn line NPHD1001, including culturable cells. Additionally provided herein are methods for introducing transgenes into inbred corn line NPHD1001, and plants produced according to these methods.
Claims19
A seed of the maize plant NPHD1001, representative seed of said plant having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-13371.
A maize plant NPHD1001, representative seed of said NPHD1001 plant having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-13371.
A process of introducing a desired heritable trait into maize plant NPHD1001 comprising:
- (a) crossing NPHD1001 plant grown from NPHD1001 seed, representative seed of which has been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-13371, with a maize plant that comprises a desired trait to produce hybrid progeny plants, (b) selecting hybrid progeny plants that have the desired trait to produce selected hybrid progeny plants;
- (c) crossing the selected progeny plants with the NPHD1001 plants to produce backcross progeny plants;
- (d) selecting for backcross progeny plants that have the desired trait to produce selected backcross progeny plants;
- and (e) repeating steps (c) and (d) at least three or more times to produce backcross progeny plants that comprise the desired trait and all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of maize inbred plant NPHD1001 when grown in the same environmental conditions.
