Abstract
The invention relates to a process for the polymerization of vinyl-containing monomers such as, for example, monomeric vinyl halides, in a reaction mixture, in which process less waste is generated.
Claims10
A polymerisation process comprising steps of:
- (a) polymerizing vinyl-containing monomers in an aqueous reaction mixture,
- (b) separating at least one polymerization product from the aqueous reaction mixture, and
- (c) after separating the at least one polymerization product, purifying the aqueous reaction mixture by filtration or microfiltration
- (d) repeating steps (a), (b) and (c) using the purified reaction mixture obtained in step (c),
- wherein solids separated by filtration or microfiltration are returned to the reaction mixture prior to repeating step (b).

A polymerisation process comprising:
- (a) polymerizing a vinyl chloride compound in an aqueous reaction mixture,
- (b) separating at least one polymerization product from the reaction mixture, and
- (c) after separating the at least one polymerization product, purifying the reaction mixture by filtration or microfiltration
- (d) repeating steps (a), (b) and (c) using the purified reaction mixture obtained in step (c),
- wherein solids separated by filtration or microfiltration are returned to the reaction mixture prior to repeating step (b).
