Abstract
A method of treating Type II diabetes utilizing two off-the-shelf drugs. Intravenous injection of one or both drugs, individually and in combination, can prevent and treat diabetes, restore damaged islet cell functions and reduce or stop the use of oral hypoglycemic agents and insulin.

A method of treating Type II diabetes in a subject by administering GM-1 at the rate of 20-40 mg/day and Ligustrazine Phosphate at the rate of 40-120 mg/day to the subject in need of such treatment, wherein said GM-1 and said Ligustrazine Phosphate are administered intravenously.
