Abstract
Sorption reinforced catalytic coating system for the degradation of threat agents including a synzyme coating about a material configured for the degradation of the threat agents, the synzyme coating including bucket-shaped molecules configured for the sorption of the threat agents A binding agent is configured for synzyme immobilization to maximize loading and retention of the synzyme coating on the material.
Claims30
A coating system for the degradation of threat agents comprising:
- a synzyme coating about a material configured to degrade the threat agents, the synzyme coating including sorption molecules configured to sorb the threat agents;
- and
- a binding agent configured to selectively attach the synzyme coating to the material to maximize loading and retention of the synzyme coating on the material.
A method for making a coating system for the degradation of threat agents, the method comprising:
- coating a material with a synzyme coating configured to degrade the threat agents, the synzyme coating including sorption molecules configured to sorb the threat agents;
- and
- exposing the synzyme coating to a binding agent configured to selectively attach the synzyme coating to the material to maximize loading and retention of the synzyme coating on the material.
