A method for enhancing the growth of Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (MAP) comprising culturing MAP in the presence of a nicotinic acid or derivatives thereof thereby enhancing the growth of MAP.
A growth medium for enhancing the growth of Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (MAP) comprising a base growth medium to support the growth of MAP in admixture with at least one nicotinic acid or derivatives thereof.
A kit comprising a base growth medium to support the growth of Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis and at least one nicotinic acid or derivatives thereof.
