A fuel cell, electrolyzer or accumulator, comprising:
- an anode;
- a cathode;
- and
- between the cathode and the anode, a proton exchange membrane comprising a layer of a material including activated boron nitride, wherein the layer comprises powdery boron nitride contained in a polymeric matrix.
