Abstract
An ink comprising an ink vehicle; pigment particles; and a dispersant; wherein the dispersant stabilizes the pigment particles; and wherein the dispersant is a compound of the formula or a mixture thereof, wherein R and R′ are independently selected from alkyl, arylalkyl, or alkylaryl with from about 18 to about 60 carbon atoms and wherein m is an integer of from about 1 to about 30.
Claims12
An ink comprising:
- an ink vehicle;
- pigment particles;
- and
- a dispersant;
- wherein the dispersant stabilizes the pigment particles;
- and
- wherein the dispersant comprises a mixture of compounds of the formula
- wherein each n is an integer of from 20 to 46 and m is an integer of from 1 to 14.
5 more elements
A process which comprises:
- (1) incorporating into an ink jet printing apparatus a phase change ink comprising (a) an ink vehicle, (b) pigment particles and (c) a dispersant, wherein the dispersant stabilizes the pigment particles and
- wherein the dispersant comprises a mixture of compounds of the formula
- wherein each n is an integer of from 20 to 46 and m is an integer of from 1 to 14;
- (2) melting the ink;
- and
- (3) causing droplets of the melted ink to be ejected at a temperature of 100 to 150° C. in an imagewise pattern onto a substrate.
