Liquid crystal composition and liquid crystal display device

A liquid crystal composition having a nematic phase and including at least one compound selected from the group of compounds represented by formula (1) as a first component, at least one compound selected from the group of compounds represented by formula (2) as a second component, at least one compound selected from the group of compounds represented by formula (3) as a third component, and at least one compound selected from the group of compounds represented by formula (4) as a fourth component, in which the ratio of the third component is 5% to 80% based on the total weight of liquid crystal composition

• wherein R1 is independently alkyl having 1 to 12 carbons, alkoxy having 1 to 12 carbons or alkenyl having 2 to 12 carbons;
• R2 and R3 are independently alkyl having 1 to 12 carbons, alkoxy having 1 to 12 carbons, alkenyl having 2 to 12 carbons, or alkenyl having 2 to 12 carbons in which arbitrary hydrogen is replaced by fluorine;
• Z1, Z2, Z3 and Z4 are independently a single bond, ethylene or carbonyloxy or difluoromethyleneoxy;
• Z5 is a single bond or ethylene;
• X3, X4, X5 and X6 are hydrogen or fluorine;
• Y1 is fluorine, chlorine or trifluoromethoxy;
• at least one of Z1 and Z2 is difluoromethyleneoxy in formula (1).
