Abstract
A gaming device incentivizes additional game play by combining payouts with conditional payouts. During game play, players are informed of the conditions, which must be satisfied so as to vest the conditional payouts. Subsequent game play is monitored to see if the player has satisfied the conditions. If the player has satisfied the conditions, then the conditional payout vests. If the condition is not met, then the conditional payout terminates.
Claims20
A gaming system comprising:
- at least one display device;
- at least one input device;
- at least one processor;
- and
- at least one memory device which stores a plurality of instructions which when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to operate with the at least one display device and the at least one input device to:
- (a) determine an outcome in association with a play of a game;
- (b) display the determined outcome;
- (c) determine if any immediate award is associated with the determined outcome;
- (d) determine if any deferred award is associated with the determined outcome;
- and
- (e) at a first point in time:
- (i) provide to a player any immediate award associated with the determined outcome, and
- (ii) not provide any deferred award associated with the determined outcome.
A method of operating a gaming system, said method comprising:
- (a) causing at least one processor to execute a plurality of instructions to determine an outcome in association with a play of a game;
- (b) causing at least one display device to display the determined outcome;
- (c) causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to determine if any immediate award is associated with the determined outcome;
- (d) causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to determine if any deferred award is associated with the determined outcome;
- and
- (e) at a first point in time:
- (i) providing to a player any immediate award associated with the determined outcome, and
- (ii) not providing any deferred award associated with the determined outcome.
A non-transitory computer readable medium including a plurality of instructions, which when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:
- (a) determine an outcome in association with a play of a game;
- (b) cause at least one display device to display the determined outcome;
- (c) determine if any immediate award is associated with the determined outcome;
- (d) determine if any deferred award is associated with the determined outcome;
- and
- (e) at a first point in time:
- (i) provide to a player any immediate award associated with the determined outcome, and
- (ii) not provide any deferred award associated with the determined outcome.
