Abstract
A liner assembly adapted to line a valve body of a control valve comprises a sleeve, a liner, and a retainer. The sleeve has an inner surface and an outer surface. The inner surface defines a bore. The outer surface is adapted to be disposed in engagement with the outlet of the control valve. The liner is slidably disposed within the bore of the sleeve. The retainer is in engagement with the liner to removably secure the liner within the sleeve.
Claims16
A liner assembly adapted to line a valve body of a control valve, the assembly comprising:
- a sleeve having a inner surface defining a bore and adapted to be disposed within a portion of the valve body;
- a liner slidably disposed within the bore of the sleeve, wherein the liner comprises a plurality of liner components, wherein the plurality of liner components includes a first liner component, a second liner component, and a third liner component, wherein the second liner component interlockingly stacks upon the first liner component and the third liner component interlockingly stacks upon the second liner component;
- and
- a retainer in engagement with the liner to removably secure the liner within the sleeve.
A control valve, comprising:
- a valve body comprising an inlet, an outlet, and a flow path disposed between the inlet and the outlet;
- a control element disposed within the valve body and adapted to control the flow of a fluid through the flow path;
- a sleeve comprising an inner surface and an outer surface, the outer surface in engagement with the outlet of the valve body;
- a liner removably disposed within the sleeve, wherein the liner comprises a plurality of liner components, wherein the plurality of liner components includes a first liner component, a second liner component, and a third liner component, wherein the second liner component interlockingly stacks upon the first liner component and the third liner component interlockingly stacks upon the second liner component;
- and
- a retainer in engagement with the liner to removably secure the liner within the sleeve.
A method of removably installing a device for protecting an outlet portion of a valve body of a control valve, the method comprising:
- inserting a liner into a sleeve such that a first engagement surface carried by the sleeve is engaged by a second engagement surface carried by the liner, wherein inserting the liner into the sleeve comprises inserting a plurality of ceramic liner components into the sleeve in a stacked manner, wherein the plurality of liner components includes a first liner component, a second liner component, and a third liner component, wherein the second liner component interlockingly stacks upon the first liner component and the third liner component interlockingly stacks upon the second liner component;
- removably securing a retention ring to a portion of the sleeve and in engagement with the liner;
- and
- inserting the sleeve containing the liner into the outlet portion of the valve body.
