Enhanced public safety communication system

A communication system, comprising:

• a plurality of communication devices for operation by a single user, at least one of the plurality of communication devices being a narrowband communication device operating in a public safety system and at least one other of the plurality of communication devices being a broadband communication device operating in a broadband system;
• the narrowband communication device and the broadband communication device being paired over a master-less communication link for a public safety mode of operation in which the broadband communication device operates as a partner device for expanding user interface elements to the narrowband communication device;
• and
• wherein the narrowband communication device shares, with the broadband communication device, a radio identifier of the narrowband communication device and wherein the broadband communication device utilizes the radio identifier of the narrowband communication device when communicating with a broadband network of the broadband system as a partner device of the narrowband communication device.
