Device for handling single sheets, for introducing and distributing rectangular single sheets, especially bank notes, respectively into and out of a container

A system having at least one cash deposit machine and at least one cash withdrawal machine,

• in which the cash deposit machine has at least one feeding device with feeding elements for the sheet-by-sheet feeding of single sheets and for storing these single sheets in a stack of single sheets in a replaceable container,
• in which the cash withdrawal machine has at least one separating device with separating elements for the sheet-by-sheet removal of the single sheets of the stack from the container,
• in which the container is removed from the cash deposit machine and is inserted into the cash withdrawal machine,
• in which at least a part of the single sheets supplied to the container in the cash deposit machine is again removed from the container in the cash withdrawal machine,
• a separating active drive included with the separating device for changing the position of a shutter of the container when the container is coupled with the separating device by moving a first sliding element that extends from the separating device to the container;
• a feeding active drive included with the feeding device for changing the position of the shutter when the container is coupled with the feeding device by moving a second sliding element that extends from the feeding device to the container;
• and
• in which the feeding elements, the separating elements, the feeding active drive, and the separating active drive each form no part of the container.

A system for storing and transporting sheets, including banknotes, the system comprising:

• a cassette for storing sheets therein, the cassette including a sheet retention shutter movable between an open position and a closed position, in the open position an opening for feeding sheets into, or drawing sheets out of, the cassette is unobstructed by the shutter, in the closed position the shutter obstructs the opening and the shutter abuts one or more sheets stored within the cassette;
• a separating and stacking module configured to couple with the cassette to selectively load sheets into the cassette and withdraw sheets out from within the cassette, components of the module extend through apertures of the shutter to contact one or more sheets stored within the cassette;
• a drive unit included with the separating and stacking module, the drive unit configured to move the shutter between the open position and the closed position when the cassette is coupled to the module;
• and
• a sliding element extending from the module to the cassette when the cassette is coupled to the module, the sliding element transfers force generated by the drive unit to the cassette to move the shutter.
