Abstract
A digital data set representing a pre-scanned tooth geometry, including generic crown data, is merged with data representing a scanned patient tooth crown image, which lacks sufficient data to completely represent a complete tooth crown.
Claims10
A computer-implemented method for modeling a complete tooth of a patient to facilitate dental and/or orthodontic treatment comprising:
- generating a first set of digital data representing a first digital tooth model of a first patient tooth including a first crown component, said first set of digital data representing only a partial portion of a surface of said first crown component;
- generating a second set of digital data representing a second digital tooth model including a second crown component, said second set of digital data representing a complete surface of said second crown component;
- and
- combining said first set of digital data and said second set of digital data to create a third set of digital data representing a complete digital tooth crown model of the first patient tooth.
