Abstract
A baling apparatus for towing behind a combine, said baling apparatus comprising a tongue to enable said towing, said baling apparatus defining a target for receiving at least a portion of material discharged directly from the combine across a gap extending the distance from a rear of the combine to a front of said baling apparatus to impact on said target of said baling apparatus through an opening defined by forward frame members and a cross member connected to the tongue rather than impacting the ground.

A baling apparatus for towing behind a combine, said baling apparatus comprising a tongue to enable said towing, said baling apparatus defining a target for receiving at least a portion of material discharged directly from the combine across a gap corresponding to the distance from a rear of the combine to said baling apparatus to impact on said target of said baling apparatus rather than impacting the ground, wherein said gap is free of a conveyor for conveying said material from the combine to said baling apparatus, wherein said tongue is connected to a main frame of said baling apparatus, said main frame comprising forward frame members and a cross member connected between the forward frame members to at least partially and collectively define an opening for receiving said portion of material discharged directly from the combine through said opening and across said cross member and impacting on said target, said cross member connected to the tongue.
A baling apparatus for towing behind a combine, said baling apparatus comprising:
- a main frame having forward frame members and a cross member connected between said forward frame members;
- a transfer pan for receiving at least a portion of material discharged directly and rearwardly from a rear of said combine to impact on said transfer pan rather than impacting the ground;
- and
- a tongue for enabling said towing, said tongue connected to and in direct contact with said cross member, wherein said forward frame members and said cross member at least partially define an opening for receiving said portion of material discharged directly and rearwardly from said combine through said opening and across said cross member and impacting on said transfer pan.
