Abstract
The present invention relates to the use of amines and/or Mannich adducts as detergents and/or dispersants in fuel and lubricant compositions for direct-injection gasoline engines. The invention further relates to fuel and lubricant compositions which comprise at least one such Mannich adduct, and also a bisaminoalkylated Mannich adduct.
Claims26
A process for reducing deposits in direct-injection gasoline engines which comprises:
- directly injecting a fuel into a combustion chamber of a gasoline engine, wherein the directly injecting injects the fuel through a common rail into the combustion chamber through a nozzle disposed in the combustion chamber;
- wherein the fuel comprises:
- a component A comprising at least one amine of the formula NR1aR2aR3 where each of R1a, R2a and R3 is independently H or C1-C20-alkyl, wherein the alkyl radicals may be interrupted by one NR4 group and/or may be substituted by one NR6R7 group where R4, R6 and R7 are each independently H or C1-C20-alkyl, and the R1a, R2a, and R3 groups each have a molecular weight of 489 or less;
- and
- a component B comprising at least one Mannich adduct of the formula I
- where R1 and R2 are each independently C1-C20-alkyl or C3-C20-cycloalkyl, and two alkyl radicals together with the nitrogen atom to which they are bonded may form a ring and the alkyl and the cycloalkyl radicals may be interrupted by one or more O groups,
- R8 is a polyisobutene radical,
- R9 is a C1-C6-alkyl group,
- R10 is H,
- m is a number from 0 to (4−n) and
- n is a number from 1 to 3.
A process for reducing deposits in direct-injection gasoline engines which comprises:
- directly injecting a fuel into a combustion chamber of a gasoline engine, wherein the directly injecting injects the fuel through a common rail into the combustion chamber through a nozzle disposed in the combustion chamber;
- wherein the fuel comprises:
- a component A comprising at least one amine of the formula NR1aR2a R3 where each of R1a, R2a and R3 is independently H or C1-C20-alkyl, wherein the alkyl radicals may be interrupted by one NR4 group and/or may be substituted by one NR6R7 group where R4, R6 and R7 are each independently H or C1-C20-alkyl, with the proviso that the molecular weight of the amine NR1aR2aR3 is from 120 to 1,000 g/mol and the R1a, R2a, and R3 groups each have a molecular weight of 489 or less;
- and
- a component B comprising at least one Mannich adduct of the formula I
- where R1 and R2 are each independently C1-C20-alkyl or C3-C20-cycloalkyl, and two alkyl radicals together with the nitrogen atom to which they are bonded may form a ring and the alkyl and the cycloalkyl radicals may be interrupted by one or more O groups, with the proviso that the sum of the molecular weights of the radicals NR1R2 is from 120 to 1,000 g/mol,
- R8 is a polyisobutene radical,
- R9 is a Ci-C6-alkyl group,
- R10 is H,
- m is a number from 0 to (4−n) and
- n is a number from 1 to 3.
