Abstract
An automated method of rendering image data using a multithread central processing unit (“CPU”) is described. The method retrieves a set of image processing instructions. The method determines an image section size to be processed by the CPU using the set of image processing instructions. The method iteratively: (i) retrieves a section of the image data that matches the image section size, and (ii) sends the section of the image data to a particular thread of the multithread CPU for processing using the processing instructions.
Claims38
An automated method of rendering an image using a multithread central processing unit (“CPU”), the method comprising:
- retrieving a set of image processing instructions;
- determining an image section size to be processed by the CPU using the set of image processing instructions;
- and
- iteratively:
- (i) retrieving a section of the image that matches the image section size, and (ii) sending the section of the image to a particular thread of the multithread CPU for processing using said processing instructions.
An automated method of rendering an image using a multithread central processing unit (“CPU”), the method comprising:
- retrieving a rendering graph comprising a set of nodes, each node comprising a set of image processing instructions;
- determining a size of a section of the image to be processed by the CPU based on said nodes;
- and
- iteratively:
- (i) retrieving different sections of the image that match the image section size, (ii) passing each section individually through all the nodes, wherein passing a section of the image through a particular node comprises performing the image processing instructions of the node on the section of the image.
An computer readable medium storing a computer program for rendering an image using a multithread central processing unit (“CPU”), the computer program comprising sets of instructions for:
- retrieving a set of image processing instructions;
- determining an image section size to be processed by the CPU using the set of image processing instructions;
- and
- iteratively:
- (i) retrieving a section of the image that matches the image section size, and (ii) sending the section of the image to a particular thread of the multithread CPU for processing using said processing instructions.
An computer readable medium storing a computer program for rendering an image using a multithread central processing unit (“CPU”), the computer program comprising sets of instructions for:
- retrieving a rendering graph comprising a set of nodes, each node comprising a set of image processing instructions;
- determining a size of a section of the image to be processed by the CPU based on said nodes;
- and
- iteratively:
- (i) retrieving different sections of the image that match the image section size, (ii) passing each section individually through all the nodes, wherein passing a section of the image through a particular node comprises performing the image processing instructions of the node on the section of the image.
An automated method of rendering a plurality of images, the method comprising:
- retrieving a rendering graph comprising a set of nodes, each node comprising a set of image processing instructions, each node comprising a set of inputs;
- receiving a set of parameters for a particular node, each parameter specifying a particular way of rendering said images;
- and
- disregarding at least one input to the particular node based on the set of parameters.
An automated method of rendering a plurality of images, the method comprising:
- retrieving a rendering graph comprising a set of nodes, each node comprising a set of image processing instructions, each node comprising a set of inputs;
- receiving a set of parameters for a particular node, each parameter specifying a particular way of rendering said images;
- and
- bypassing processing of a particular node based on the set of parameters.
An computer readable medium storing a computer program for rendering a plurality of images, the computer program comprising sets of instructions for:
- retrieving a rendering graph comprising a set of nodes, each node comprising a set of image processing instructions, each node comprising a set of inputs;
- receiving a set of parameters for a particular node, each parameter specifying a particular way of rendering said images;
- and
- disregarding at least one input to the particular node based on the set of parameters.
