Abstract
The present invention relates to a method and system for graphic representation of dynamic information from a dynamic 2D or 3D object. In particular, the invention relates to a novel method of interpolating dynamic information having values of different signs. The method of the present invention is particularly useful for the graphic representation of dynamic information, in particular flow data which has been acquired with a color-Doppler-method. The method of the invention can be used for representing the flow of liquids, such as blood and is therefore useful for human and animal diagnostics.
Claims15
A method for graphic representation of dynamic information from a dynamic two-dimensional or three-dimensional object, the method comprising:
- (a) providing dynamic information from said dynamic object in a form of a single originally signed velocity value,
- (b) encoding the dynamic information by splitting the single originally signed velocity value into an absolute value of the single originally signed velocity value and a signed value that is the single originally signed velocity value and mapping the absolute value and the signed value to separate numbers,
- (c) separately interpolating the absolute value and the signed value to give two separate values,
- (d) combining the two separate values obtained in step (c),
- (e) representing the combined values from step (d) using an image processing sub-system including a processing unit and a display device.
