Abstract
A nonlinear optical system may include optics, a non-linear optical crystal, and a uni-axial focusing element. The non-linear optical crystal is configured to generate an output beam from a non-linear optical interaction with an input beam. The optics are configured to image the input beam to an original input beam waist within the non-linear optical crystal, whereby the output beam has an original output beam waist. The uni-axial focusing element is optically coupled to the non-linear optical crystal. The uni-axial focusing element is configured so that the output beam has a new output beam waist at approximately the same location as the original output beam waist.

A nonlinear optical system comprising:
- a non-linear optical crystal configured to generate an output beam from a non-linear optical interaction with an input beam;
- optics configured to image the input beam to an original input beam waist within the non-linear optical crystal, whereby the output beam has an original output beam waist;
- and
- a uni-axial focusing element optically coupled to the non-linear optical crystal, wherein the uni-axial focusing element is configured so that the output beam has a new output beam waist at approximately the same location as the original output beam waist.
A wavelength-converted laser system comprising:
- a laser system configured to emit a laser beam;
- a first non-linear optical crystal;
- optics configured to focus the laser beam to an original waist within the first non-linear optical crystal;
- and
- a uni-axial focusing element configured to image the original waist to a new waist at approximately the same location as the original waist.
A wavelength-converted laser system comprising:
- a laser system configured to emit a laser beam;
- a non-linear optical crystal configured to generate an output beam from a non-linear interaction optical interaction with the laser beam;
- optics configured to image the laser beam to a laser beam waist within the non-linear optical crystal, whereby the output beam has an original output beam waist that is elongated along a walk-off direction of the non-linear crystal;
- and
- a uni-axial focusing element optically coupled to the non-linear optical crystal, wherein the uni-axial focusing element is configured to image the original output beam waist to a new output beam waist at approximately the same location as the original output beam waist.
