Abstract
A production simulator (2), for simulating a mature hydrocarbon field, providing quantity produced (Qφktb ) per phase, per well, per layer (or group of layers) and per time as a function of production parameters (PP), wherein the production simulator (2) matches history data (HD) of the mature hydrocarbon field and verifies a Vapnik condition.
Claims24
A non-transitory computer readable medium storing a computer program which when executed by a processor of a computer performs a method of producing a production simulator, for simulating a mature hydrocarbon field, providing quantities produced per phase, per well, per layer or group of layers and per time as a function of production parameters, wherein said production simulator is defined by a set of parameters α within a space of solutions, matches history data of said mature hydrocarbon field and exhibits a good forecast reliability, which can be characterized, according to a Statistical Learning Theory, by low forecast expected risk R(α) associated with said parameters α, the method comprising the steps of:
- defining initial detailed reservoir partition, rock properties, laws of reservoir physics and laws of well physics,
- upscaling said reservoir partition, rock properties, laws of reservoir physics and laws of well physics until a Vapnik condition is verified, and
- optimizing said production simulator by choosing from among production simulator candidate solutions, a candidate solution minimizing a forecast expected risk R(α).

- defining initial coarse reservoir partition, rock properties, laws of reservoir physics and laws of well physics,
- downscaling said reservoir partition, rock properties, laws of reservoir physics and laws of well physics while keeping a Vapnik condition verified, until the production simulator matches history data and
- optimizing said production simulator by choosing from among production simulator candidate solutions, a candidate solution minimizing a forecast expected risk R(α).
