Abstract
In one embodiment, an apparatus comprises a plurality of queues and a queue scheduler configured to schedule frames from a plurality of Transmission Control Protocol flows. The frames are buffered through one of the plurality of queues based, at least in part on, a pre-assigned priority of the frames. Congestion control logic is configured to change a pre-assigned priority of selected frames from the plurality of Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) flows to reduce TCP global loss synchronization among the plurality of TCP flows.

An apparatus comprising:
- a plurality of queues;
- a queue scheduler configured to schedule frames from a plurality of Transmission Control Protocol flows to be buffered through one of the plurality of queues based, at least in part on, a pre-assigned priority of the frames;
- and
- congestion control logic configured to change a pre-assigned priority of selected frames from the plurality of Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) flows to reduce TCP global loss synchronization among the plurality of TCP flows,
- wherein the pre-assigned priority of the selected frames are changed by the congestion control logic prior to the selected frames being scheduled by the queue scheduler.
A device, comprising:
- a plurality of queues, wherein each queue is configured to process network communications associated with a different priority, and wherein the network communications each have a pre-assigned priority;
- and
- congestion control logic is configured to (i) select frames from the network communications and (ii) change the pre-assigned priority of the selected frames,
- wherein the change in the pre-assigned priority of the selected frames causes the selected frames to be processed through a different queue in the plurality of queues.
A method for a network device, the method comprising:
- receiving network communications from a plurality of TCP sources, wherein the network communications contain an assigned priority that, at least in part, causes the network communications to be processed through a designated queue;
- selecting one or more network communications and re-assigning the assigned priority to cause the selected network communications to be processed through a different queue than the designated queue.
