Abstract
Various embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for signal offset cancellation. For example, a method for error cancellation is disclosed. The method includes: receiving an input signal that includes a second order error component; applying a transfer function to the processed input to reduce the second order error component; and providing an output signal that is the result of applying the transfer function to the input signal.

- wherein the z(t) term is the input signal and the a term is a scalar;
- and
- provide an output signal, wherein the output signal is the result of applying the transfer function to the input signal.
A data processing circuit, the data processing circuit comprising:
- an analog pre-processing circuit, wherein the analog pre-processing circuit receives a data input and provides a processed input, and wherein the processed input includes a second order error component;
- a correction circuit, wherein the correction circuit is operable to:
- receive the processed input;
- apply a first order transfer function to the processed input to reduce at least a portion of the second order error component;
- provide an output signal, wherein the output signal is the result of applying the transfer function to the input signal;
- and
- a data detector circuit, wherein the detector circuit applies a detection algorithm to a derivative of the output signal.
A method for signal offset cancellation, the method comprising:
- receiving an input signal, wherein the input signal includes a second order error component;
- applying a transfer function to the input signal to reduce the second order error component, wherein the transfer function is:
