Abstract
A system includes a controller configured to receive a signal from a thermal radiation sensor indicative of a temperature of a region including at least one fluid passage. The controller is also configured to detect a leak within the at least one fluid passage based on the signal.
Claims23
A system comprising:
- a thermal radiation sensor directed toward a region including at least one fluid passage, wherein the thermal radiation sensor comprises a thermopile configured to detect thermal radiation emitted by fluid leaking from the at least one fluid passage, and to output a signal indicative of a temperature of the region;
- and
- a controller communicatively coupled to the thermal radiation sensor, wherein the controller is configured to detect a leak within the at least one fluid passage based on the signal.
A system comprising:
- a controller configured to receive a signal from a thermal radiation sensor indicative of a temperature of a region including at least one fluid passage, wherein the controller is configured to detect a leak within the at least one fluid passage based on the signal, and the thermal radiation sensor comprises a thermopile configured to detect thermal radiation emitted by fluid leaking from the at least one fluid passage.
A method comprising:
- measuring thermal radiation within a region including at least one fluid passage via a thermopile configured to detect thermal radiation emitted by fluid leaking from the at least one fluid passage;
- determining a temperature of the region based on the measurement;
- and
- detecting a leak within the at least one fluid passage based on the temperature of the region.
