Abstract
Polycarbonate includes repeat units represented by Formula 1, Formula 2 and Formula 3, respectively: wherein: R1 and R2 are the same or different and are each independently substituted or unsubstituted C1 to C6 alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C3 to C6 cycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C6 to C12 aryl or halogen, a and b are the same or different and are each independently an integer from 0 to 4, and Q is substituted or unsubstituted C5 to C10 cycloalkyl.

Polycarbonate comprising repeat units represented by Formula 1, Formula 2 and Formula 3, respectively:
- wherein:
- R1 and R2 are the same or different and are each independently substituted or unsubstituted C1 to C6 alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C3 to C6 cycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C6 to C12 aryl or halogen, and
- a and b are the same or different and are each independently an integer from 0 to 4;
- wherein:
- R1 and R2 are the same or different and are each independently substituted or unsubstituted C1 to C6 alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C3 to C6 cycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C6 to C12 aryl or halogen, and
- a and b are the same or different and are each independently an integer from 0 to 4;
- and
- wherein:
- Q is substituted or unsubstituted C5 to C10 cycloalkyl, and
- a and b are the same or different and are each independently an integer from 0 to 4.
A method of preparing polycarbonate comprising transesterification of diols represented by Formula 1-1, Formula 2-1 and Formula 3-1 with diaryl carbonate:
- wherein:
- R1 and R2 are the same or different and are each independently substituted or unsubstituted C1 to C6 alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C3 to C6 cycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C6 to C12 aryl or halogen, and
- a and b are the same or different and are each independently an integer from 0 to 4;
- wherein:
- R1 and R2 are the same or different and are each independently substituted or unsubstituted C1 to C6 alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C3 to C6 cycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C6 to C12 aryl or halogen, and
- a and b are the same or different and are each independently an integer from 0 to 4;
- and
- wherein:
- Q is substituted or unsubstituted C5 to C10 cycloalkyl, and
- a and b are the same or different and are each independently an integer from 0 to 4.
