A method of preparing a phosphorus compound represented by Formula 1:
- wherein each R is hydrogen, the method comprising
- reacting phosphorus oxychloride with a compound represented by Formula 2:
- wherein R is hydrogen, and
- reacting the reaction product with hydroquinone.
