Abstract
A method includes pulling out and conveying a sheet having splice portions, acquiring information relating to a position of an indentation on the sheet formed in addition to a splice portion, and performing processing on the sheet but a position corresponding to the acquired position of the indentation and its vicinity.
Claims11
An apparatus comprising:
- a holding unit configured to hold a roll of a sheet having splice portions;
- a printing unit configured to record an image on the sheet while the sheet is conveyed;
- a detection unit configured to detect a splice portion of the sheet;
- an acquisition unit configured to acquire an outer circumferential length of the roll;
- and
- a control unit configured to control so as to prevent the printing unit from recording an effective image at or in the vicinity of an upstream position spaced from the splice portion by an amount equivalent to the outer circumferential length of the roll, based on a detection result of the detected splice portion and the acquired outer circumferential length.
